I love chili. Real chili. If it has beans, it is not Chili ( Sorry Wendy’s ) and hands down the best off the shelf chili is Wolf. I remember at my old company that they stocked dozens of cans of the stuff. I worked the over night shift and would easily eat 2-3 cans of the stuff. People. There are something like 2000 calories in each can. I gained so much weight it is crazy!

I caught some movies this week that I have never seen and I would like to share with you my thoughts on them.
Dogtown and Z-Boys : Brilliant to say the least or better yet – Radical. This movie brought so many memories back and touched me on some deep levels. I skated the same streets and surfed the same waves as those guys and grew up hearing stories from others and my dad.One of my first boards was an Alva, a friend of my dads gave me cause his son never rode it anymore. These guys really birthed a whole new culture and lifestyle and all they wanted to do is surf and skate – To feel the freedom it gives you. Nothing like it in the world. This movie has also inspired me now – at the ripe old age of 30 ( I haven’t picked up a board in 15 yrs ) to start skating again. I highly recommend this to anyone that is interested in history – real history.
Sin City : Sucked. Mickey Rourke with the only bright star in this dark mass of shit – well that and all the super hot chicks. I am officially in love with Rosario Dawson.
War of the worlds: I have to admit that even though I cant stand Spielberg or Cruise, this was pretty decent. I believe this is Toms best performance since Born on the 4th of July. The CGI was realistic and tasteful and even though it seemed a bit rushed I think they pulled it off.
oh…BTW – MR.Wizard kicks ass!
The best part of a corn dog really is the crusty part left on the stick after you ear the dog. They should sell just those.
Silms Jims really are one of the greatest foods on the planet. But have you seen the ingredients?
“beef, mechanically separated chicken , water, salt, corn syrup, flavorings, dextrose, paprika, hydrolyzed corn gluten, soy and wheat gluten proteins, sodium nitrite, lactic acid starter culture “
Not one of those is good for you, even the “mechanically separated chicken, which gives me all kinds of horrible images in my head.
I LOVE SRV but I have to admit, this is the first time I have seen one of his videos. It really is greatness!
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930′s 40′s, 50′s, 60′s and 70′s !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren’t overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes
a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms………WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
Imagine waking up tomorrow with no memory of today or any other since the day of your birth. Imagine living without a history, without experience, no relationships, no past troubles. Imagine starting your life over again, making a new set of friends, finding new talents and falling in love for the first time. How would you react? What would you do first? Just something to ponder.
